Who we are...Forsthoffer Associates Inc. was founded in early 1990 by William E. Forsthoffer following his rewarding relationships with Mobil Research and Development Corp. (MRDC) as a Rotating Equipment Specialist and Siemens/Demag/DeLaval as a Rotating Equipment Designer. The vision of the organization was to direct our collective experience toward the needs of the industries concerned with the Design, Purchase and Use of special purpose (critical, high revenue) Rotating Equipment. The changes that have affected these industries in recent years are unprecedented. Key Vendor Personnel have been victims of early retirement or have left for other industries. Contractors and End Users have dramatically reduced their technical staff and consequently have to cope with a significant technical learning curve. Coupled with these difficulties is the misconception that PC's with user friendly "Expert Programs" are a cure-all. As a result, Vendors are finding that they are devoting unnecessary man hours to the explanation of basic principles that their clients should already have a firm understanding of. In addition, the lack of understanding on the Contractor's and User's part concerning the equipment characteristics and the operating system often results in a "Wrong Fit" and yet another costly Reliability Problem. The stakes are high; special purpose (unspared) equipment downtime can result in daily revenue losses well in excess of $2,000,000 U.S. Dollars. It is in this environment that my organization was created. Our stated objective is: "THE OPTIMIZATION OF ROTATING EQUIPMENT SAFETY AND RELIABILITY THROUGH TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND VENDOR/USER COMMUNICATION" Since that time, we have met those goals by providing the following quality services to the industry:
Forsthoffer Associates, Inc. is a Consulting firm, but not in the traditional sense. We do not perform our services in isolation. That is, we totally involve our clients in all our rendered services to assure the learning experience is maximized, implemented and retained.
